It was a success feeling even before the actual trip began.
I returned from office and got ready to leave to the railway station where we all had planned to meet. Departure from Bangalore to Hospet: 2130 Hrs. Next day arrival at Hospet: 0710 Hrs.As Murthy had arranged everything , we had the driver waiting with the placard. From station to Hotel Mallige, got ready and after breakfast, we started off for the Hampi site visit. On the way we visited Sai Baba temple which was still under construction. We hired a guide for 4 Hrs who was very friendly and patient.
For me this was the fourth visit but for my cousins it was the first and I could see that excitement.As for myself I was lost in memories of the past when I had visited along with my railway friends. Time-how I wish I could take it back to where I wanted to stop.
After the Hampi site visit, a little tired we had lunch at Shanbhog & headed for the hotel.
TB dam visit was cancelled & we all jumped to the swimming pool of the hotel, which was fun to the core.Evening was spent with Bhajji & Mandakki and then the traditional dinner with jowari roti and sides. A little heavy with the dinner we came to our respective rooms and spent a little more in chatting with each other over a drink.
Next day morning we had breakfast and headed towards Anegundi which was a bit of travel but it was filled with antakshari and jokes.
The boat ride to the Nava Brindavan was pleasant and the site itself was great –Brindavanas right in the middle of Tunga. A funny thing happened on the way back-the boat which was scheduled to fetch us back broke down & we had to wait for at least 2 hrs for that to get ready & I must say that Manju,Lakshmi& Vani did panic to a certain extent. Finally from Anegundi toTungaBhadra dam which as ever as it was – splendid.
A quick pack up& we reached the Hospet station. My railway friend Subba rao came to meet me & it was a great feeling even though we spoke for only about 10mins. Departure from Hospet at 1900 Hrs & until 2200 Hrs we were singing and shouting aloud. Reached Bangalore at 0600 Hrs.
I know its been a long time that I took to pen this down, but as I say if I could turn the time back , I would do the same things which I have been doing all this while.
